A football linebacker aspires to go into medicine.
"I wanted to play football at a Division III school because it's not only about athletics — there's so much more. There's more of a focus on academics, and also on having a sense of camaraderie with your coaches and teammates. It's about being a successful student-athlete.
"The coaches at Willamette invest in their players. They respect your academic dreams as well as your athletic ones. My coaches understand what’s important to me, and having that mentor relationship has shaped me into the person I am today.
"Being an athlete at Willamette has pushed me much harder than if I was just here for school. That competitive drive that you get on the football field correlates directly to the classroom. I'm a very competitive person, and I think that has greatly contributed to my accomplishments."
