Willamette bids farewell to Director of Athletics Mark Majeski
Mark Majeski, director of athletics, will be moving on at the end of this semester after leading Willamette's athletics programming for a decade. He will be replaced in the interim by Dave Rigsby '00, who will be moving over from his current position as associate dean of campus life.
Majeski has overseen many developments in athletics, notably major facilities upgrades (including the addition of two year-round turf fields); the Cardinal and Gold magazine; and many strategic, divisional and co-curricular programs. Working with Development and Alumni Relations, Majeski has also opened new doors for fundraising support, which has propelled many of the physical and programmatic changes of recent years.
Rigsby, a WU alumnus, longtime administrator and former baseballer, will bring existing athletics familiarity and an encyclopedic Willamette knowledge base to the position over the course of the interim period.
