Presenter: Lynn Brown '77, M.S., Director of Career Services, Marylhurst University

Program: According to Lynn, people who engage in work that combines their talents, interests and passions are way more likely to be both successful and happy. Having been an entrepreneur who used this philosophy to turn an idea into her own successful business, Lynn is currently at Marylhurst University, helping students and alumni actively incorporate this philosophy into their own lives. Lynn believes that pinpointing this collision is on ongoing process that should start at the beginning of one's career.

Shakespeare on a Budget
Ashland, Oregon

Join alumni, current students and theater professors Susan Coromel, Rachel Kinsman and Bobby Brewer-Wallin at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland for two extraordinary plays at an unbeatable price. Susan, Rachel and Bobby will brief us on themes and costumes, and tell us how all the elements come together to create magic on the stage.

11:30 – 1:00 p.m. Lunch together and pre-play presentation
1:30 – 3:30 p.m. “A Wrinkle in Time”
3:30 - 6 p.m.  Free time in Ashland
6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Dinner together and pre-play presentation
8:00 – 9:30 p.m. “A Comedy of Errors”

Space is limited to 12 students and 12 alumni. $75 for two plays. Register beginning August 1.

“A Comedy of Errors”
Shakespeare’s farce about the craziest family reunion ever. Set in the heart of the Harlem Renaissance.

Whether your career needs a kick-start or a jump-start, join us for the second workshop in the WUAA Fall Lunch & Learn Professional Development Series.

Presenter: Roy Notowitz, Managing Director of Notogroup, an executive search and recruitment consulting firm in Portland and Boulder, Colo. 

Program: The landscape of job searches and hiring practices has changed dramatically in recent years. Hear Roy's informed perspective from working with some of the world's most notable brands, then ask your pressing questions about resumes, online portfolios, working with recruitments, interviewing and professional relationship building. In addition to having built two successful executive search firms, Roy gained experience as a recruiter and staffing manager at both Nike and Intel. His session promises to be lively, honest and highly interactive.

The date is set for 2015! ALL alumni, from ALL Willamette schools and generations are invited.  

Lots of great programing and special events will be announced; watch for details. Already on the slate is Homecoming 2015 featuring a football game vs. Cal Lutheran and reunions for College of Law classes (TBA), and College of Liberal Arts classes ('65, '70, '75, '80, '85, '90, '95, '00, '05).
