Big Questions Over Lunch

Tuesday
11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Alumni Lounge, University Center
Bill Smaldone, E.J. Whipple Professor of History (http://www.willamette.edu/cla/history/faculty/smaldone/index.html), will discuss “Religion(s) and Socialism: Common Ground and Contradictions on the Road to a Just Society” at the first Big Questions Over lunch session of the Spring Semester.

The basic principles of many leading religions have much in common with the principles of socialism. Why then have religion and socialism often been at odds? Can Pope Francis really be the Marxist that Rush Limbuagh claims he is? Let’s talk about it!

Join us for a lively brown-bag seminar and discussion. Bring your lunch or purchase it at the Cat Cavern. (Please allow an extra 15-20 minutes to purchase your lunch.) Parking information may be found at
