Athletes earn All-America honors

Willamette University athletes Kimber Mattox ’11 and Evin Colignon ’11 achieved All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Ohio.

Mattox earned All-America status by placing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Colignon earned it by placing fifth in the decathlon.

Also competing for Willamette at the track and field championships were Brandi Miller ’12, Leo Castillo ’12, David Oppat ’11 and Stefan Redfield ’11.

Two Bearcats competed over the weekend at the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships in California: Natalia Agarycheva ’11 and Shannon Palmer ’12.

In baseball news, Willamette left-fielder T.C. Lee ’11 was named Honorable Mention All-America by D3baseball.com for the 2011 season.
