Puttin’ on the Ritz features an evening of big-band music and dancing
The Willamette University Music Department invites you to put on your best evening attire and dancing shoes and transport back to the swing era with an evening of jazz and big-band music at the 17th annual Puttin’ on the Ritz.
The event — popular with both the Willamette and Salem communities — is Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Salem Conference Center. It begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and then music until 10 p.m.
Live entertainment will feature the Kemtones Little Big Band, directed by saxophonist Randy Klem, and the Willamette Singers, Willamette’s nationally renowned vocal jazz group.
“If you have never been to the Ritz, you’re in for a wonderful evening of fine dining, dancing and listening to some outstanding music,” said Wallace Long, Willamette’s director of choral activities. “It’s a fantastic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day by going out for a romantic evening.”
Tickets are $50 per person, which includes appetizers, beverages, dinner, dessert and music. Proceeds support Willamette music scholarships and choral program recruiting activities.
