Willamette alumni earn Fulbright fellowships

Two alumni from Willamette won Fulbright awards for 2012-13. Fifteen Willamette students and alumni have received Fulbright grants in the past five years.

This year’s winners are Jaela Dinsmore ’12, who is working as an English teaching assistant in Bototá, Colombia; and Anton Chiono ’06, who is working at the Climate Change Research Institute in New Zealand, where he is comparing U.S. and New Zealand forest management policies.

Under the Fulbright program, American students are offered grants to study, teach English or conduct research in more than 150 countries.

The Fulbright competition is administered at Willamette through Monique Bourque, director of Student Academic Grants and Awards.
