NOTE THE UPDATED APPLICATION DEADLINE OF FEBRUARY 1, 2018
The Willamette University Sustainability Institute administers the A. Fred Wert Collaborative Research in Sustainability Grant competition. The Wert Grant provides up to $3,500 ($3,000 student, $500 faculty) for a collaborative research project in sustainability led by students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and supported by faculty or qualified professionals.
Students work in collaboration with a faculty member/professional on an aspect of their existing research/work in sustainability, or students design their own sustainability project in collaboration with a faculty member/professional with the requisite expertise. In each case, it is expected that the student and faculty/professional work closely together in designing a collaborative project that enhances the student’s scholarly development and research expertise, and contributes meaningfully to our academic understanding of sustainability and its practice. It is also expected that collaboration leads to presentation and/or publication of the research results beyond the Willamette community.
Please note that for this opportunity "sustainability" is defined broadly to include (but not limited to) the environment, social justice, and (economic) equity. Proposals are encouraged from all disciplines.
The Sustainability Institute is accepting applications through February 1, 2018, and expects to announce awards mid-February. Please download the application for more information on how to apply. Questions may be submitted via email at <jabraham>.
