Students Visit the Salem Hospital and Learn about Career Opportunities

Willamette Academy students recently participated in a tour of the Salem Hospital. The tour was part of Willamette Academy’s monthly workshop program that provides students the opportunity to explore different professions within the Salem community. Many students at the Willamette Academy are already interested in working within healthcare profession. Touring students were shown the various kinds of jobs within a hospital, and even explored two of the hospital libraries and the hospital kitchen. The students learned a lot about these different parts of the hospital. They learned the purpose of the public hospital library, which has resources for patients to learn about health and disease prevention, and in their visit to the hospital kitchen they had an important conversation about nutrition.
