Students Visit OSU

On May 13th, 2014 eleven Willamette Academy students traveled to Oregon State University for a college visit. The visit started with an exciting ride to the university campus on the Beaver Bus, courtesy of Nathan a Willamette Academy sponsor. Once on campus the students received a private tour stopping along the major points. The students learned where the library was located, how the roommate choosing process occurs, where the gym is located, dining options and major buildings. Also, in the tour the students learned about the honors college, how many majors the university offers, the many clubs, and ways to get involved at Oregon State University.

After the tour the students received a presentation by an admissions officer they learned what classes they should take to be able to attend the university and how the university stands in comparison to other public schools, however the most important segment of this session was when the students had an opportunity to talk to the admissions officer to learn about how their majors of interest were represented and how they excelled at Oregon State University.

The college visit concluded with a stop at a pizza joint, where the students enjoyed lunch provided by our donor Nathan. During lunch the students were able to talk about their experience and their thoughts about the campus visit.
