Campus Life

To understand the nature of the Willamette community, it helps to get to know the people who live and work here. Here you'll meet football players who sing in a choir, biology majors who study art history while studying abroad, and administrators who play intramural sports on the side. And with all of these people, you'll probably feel right at home.

What all this means is that it's easy to connect with people and groups on campus that make the Willamette experience so exciting. Whether you’re into casual recreation, competitive sports, or creating your own niche, you can explore your interests in over 100 student clubs and organizations. You'll undoubtedly meet students whose backgrounds are as diverse as their talents.

Governing bodies such as Associated Students of Willamette University give students a chance to play a major role in shaping campus life, while other organizations reach out to the Salem community and beyond. In fact, participation in clubs is one important way studends exemplify our school motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born.”
