Athletics

The athletics program at Willamette University has been an important part of campus life for more than a century. Today, more than a quarter of our students participates in NCAA Division III athletics and almost everybody gets involved with intramurals or club teams at some point. Don't let Willamette's intimate size make you think that sports programs don't get the attention they deserve.

Here’s a brief overview of the athletic program at Willamette:

  • NCAA men’s sports: baseball, basketball, crew, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field
  • NCAA women’s sports: basketball, crew, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball
  • Club teams/organizations: men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, ski and snowboard, cheer squad, men's rugby, dance team, swing club, rod and reel, Surfahs, jujitsu/self defense, bowling
  • Example intramurals: soccer, grass volleyball, indoor volleyball, basketball, racquetball, flag football
