In the information age, the most valuable resources that an organization has are its data- and knowledge bases. Effective management of information systems and technology is central to codifying and sharing data as well as to discovering and applying new knowledge both of which are essential for success.

Successful management of information resources requires a broad understanding of the application and implementation of information technology. Achieving this goal does not imply that a manager must have a great deal of hands-on technical experience. Instead, it is far more relevant to have a broad understanding of the possibilities for using information technology to solve operational, tactical and strategic challenges. This coupled with the skill to utilize the tools and techniques that lead to successful technology integration is key for managers of the future.

At the Atkinson School we seek to prepare managers who can successfully address the changing technological landscape. Our students will be equipped with the skills necessary to manage the systems of today and the awareness required to address the technology challenges of tomorrow.
