Full-Time Formats: Admission

The distinct experiential component of Willamette's Full-Time MBA programs make Willamette an excellent choice for applicants with work experience as well as recent college graduates. Each format is designed to meet specific goals. Choose the format that meets your goals:

  • Early Career MBA - for recent college graduates and applicants with limited work experience who are seeking their first professional position or career change. Previous work experience is not required.
  • MBA for Career Change - for applicants with at least two years of post bachelor degree professional work experience with management or functional responsibilities, who are seeking career change or career advancement.

  • MBA/JD Joint Degree - for applicants seeking admission to the MBA program as part of their application to MBA/JD program.

  • BA/MBA - for Willamette University College of Liberal Arts students seeking admission to the BA/MBA

Applications for Fall Semester 2009
We are currently reviewing applications for admission and merit-based scholarship assistance for Fall Semester 2009. Interested applicants should complete the application process as soon as possible.

Opportunities for enrollment for fall semester 2009 for applicants admitted after June 22nd may be on a waitlist basis.

Waitlisted admitted applicants who do not have the opportunity to enroll for fall semester 2009 will be offered admission for fall semester 2010.

Admission Decision Notification
A complete application file and an interview are required to be considered for admission by the admission committee. Applications are evaluated for interviews and admission on a rolling basis. You are strongly encouraged to apply early.

Applicants who complete the application process and the interview will be notified of the admission decision within three weeks of completion of the interview.

Applicants who submit an application form or credentials that do not indicate potential for a positive admission decision may be denied admission at any time after submission of the application form. Applicants in this situation will be notified by email from the admission office.


Deposit

All admitted students are expected to pay a tuition deposit to reserve their place in the incoming class and any scholarship or assistantship funds awarded by Willamette University.


Entry Semester

MBA students begin their studies fall semester (August).


Deferral

Admitted students may request to defer their admission by submitting a written request to the Director of Admission. A student whose request for deferral is approved may defer enrollment for one academic year. Deferment of admission is not guaranteed and does not defer scholarship or financial aid awards.

Early Action 2 March 1, 2010
Application Deadline May 1, 2010

Early Action applicants receive full consideration for admission, merit-based scholarships and graduate assistantship awards. An early application also ensures early notification of our admission decision and promotes a smooth transition to your MBA experience.

Applicants who complete their application between March 2nd and May 1st will receive full consideration for admission. However, merit-based scholarship and graduate assistantship awards will be awarded on a funds available basis for qualified applicants.

Applications received after the May 1st deadline may be considered for admission on a space available basis and should contact the MBA admission office for information.
