Early Career MBA: U.S. Applicants

We welcome and encourage qualified applicants from the U.S. and around the world. Our Early Career MBA program emphasizes experiential learning and builds the knowledge and real-world experience needed for career entry, change or advancement in business, government and not-for-profit organizations.

Admission is based on academic ability, managerial potential and commitment to participating in an intensive and experiential MBA learning environment. The distinct experiential component of Willamette's Early Career MBA make it an excellent choice for applicants with work experience as well as recent college graduates

Applicants must have a bachelor degree from a U.S. college/university accredited by the appropriate regional institutional accrediting agency, or an equivalent degree from another country. Three and four year bachelor degrees from international colleges/universities are considered equivalent if the degree is Bologna Accord compliant or if the degree granting institution is recognized by the country's national or regional accreditation/quality assurance organization.

All applicants should have a record of strong and consistent academic performance, an understanding of mathematical principles and well developed writing skills.

A complete application file and an interview are required to be considered for admission by the admission committee. Applications are evaluated for interviews and admission on a rolling basis. You are strongly encouraged to apply early.

Application documents include all of the following:

  • Online Application Form

  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work

  • Official GMAT or General GRE score report. GMAT and GRE scores are valid for five years.

    Information about the GMAT is available at mba.com. The GMAT code for the Willamette Full-Time MBA is 3MZ-PZ-27.

    Information about the General GRE is available at gre.org. The GRE code for Willamette University is 4954. .

  • Personal statement essays

  • Two candidate evaluation forms or letters of reference

  • Resume

  • $50 nonrefundable application fee (waived for applications submitted online )

Interview
An interview is part of the selection process. Applicants eligible to complete the interview process will be invited to interview by the admission office after all the applicant's documents have been received. Applicants invited to interview will be given instructions for arranging a telephone or on-campus interview.

Admission Decision Notification
Applicants who complete the application process and the interview will be notified of the admission decision within three weeks of completion of the interview.

Applicants who submit an application form or credentials that do not indicate potential for a positive admission decision may be denied admission at any time after submission of the application form. Applicants in this situation will be notified by email from the admission office.

Early Action applicants receive full consideration for admission, merit-based scholarships and graduate assistantship awards. An early application also ensures early notification of our admission decision and promotes a smooth transition to your MBA experience.

Applicants who complete their application between March 2nd and May 1st will receive full consideration for admission. However, merit-based scholarship and graduate assistantship awards will be awarded on a funds available basis for qualified applicants.

Applications received after the May 1st deadline may be considered for admission on a space available basis and should contact the MBA admission office for information.
