Mark J. Ahn, Ph.D. will join the Willamette University faculty in fall 2009. Dr. Ahn is currently Professor and Chair, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship with a joint appointment from the faculties of Commerce & Administration and Science, Victoria University of Wellington; and Principal, Pukana Partners a life sciences strategic consulting firm.
Prior to Victoria, Dr. Ahn was founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Hana Biosciences, Inc. that he led from private to NASDAQ-listed company. Prior to Hana, he served as Vice President, Hematology and corporate officer at Genentech, Inc. Dr. Ahn also held a series of positions of increasing responsibility at Amgen and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in general management, strategy, sales & marketing, business development, and finance.
Dr. Ahn also serves on public and private company Boards of Directors for RXi Pharmaceuticals, Access Pharmaceuticals, Periocyte, and Mesynthes. He also serves on the Board of Governors for Chaminade University.
Dr. Ahn received a BA and MBA from Chaminade University. He was a graduate fellow in Economics at Essex University, and has a Ph.D. from the University of South Australia. Dr. Ahn is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
