The Early Career MBA is designed for recent college graduates and applicants with limited work experience who are seeking their first professional position or career change. Previous work experience is not required. Willamette's Early Career MBA emphasizes experiential learning or "learning by doing." Internships, consulting projects, case studies, simulations, student investment fund, ethics in business awards, and the PACE Projects (where teams of students create and operate real organizations) build the knowledge and experience employers value. The curriculum includes a combination of required and elective courses that build a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of general management; enhance professional, communication/ leadership, team and career management skills; and develop in depth knowledge in the following areas: Students interested in international management will also find an assortment of courses that support their career interests. In just 21 months, Early Career MBA students develop a broad integrated understanding of the functions of management, refine their career interests, develop an in-depth understanding of one or more career areas of interest, and build the portfolio of experience needed to succeed in a competitive job market.
