1. General Information

When is Alumni Reunion Weekend 2018?

The weekend is set for June 7-11.

Who is invited?

All alumni – from every school, every class year, degree or non-degree – are invited. This is a celebration of all things Willamette with something for everyone. Special programming is provided for those celebrating a reunion year (classes ending in a 3 or an 8).

What's new this year?

We are delighted to celebrate Alumni Reunion Weekend 2018 for the first time in June! Learn more by visiting our weekend move FAQs page.  The move to June provides a number of new and exciting opportunities throughout the weekend. Those include an exclusive Winemaker's Dinner on Thursday evening, a return of last year's popular VIP Willamette Valley wine tour, the ability to stay overnight on campus in one of our residence halls or sorority houses. Stay late on Saturday for the Saturday Night Experience, including the all-class reception, class reunion dinners (for those celebrating a reunion year), and the Winning Hand Casino Celebration and Dance. FORE Willamette has made the move to June, also. Enjoy a day on the course with classmates and members of the Bearcat Athletics team on June 11. Relive the glory days through an excellent slate of programming!

Can I just show up on campus for Alumni Reunion Weekend?

We strongly encourage you to pre-register and avoid the additional $30 fee for late registrations. This will also guarantee your ability to attend as space is limited due to the popularity of the weekend's events.

2. Children & Childcare

Should I bring my child and is there childcare?

Please keep in mind that activities are specifically planned for adults and that childcare will not be available on campus. Children under 18 must be escorted and supervised at all times by a parent, legal guardian or another authorized adult. It is the responsibility of the parent, legal guardian or another authorized adult to make appropriate off-campus arrangements if children cannot be accompanied at all times while on campus. We hope families will consider joining us for Willamette Family Weekend and Homecoming for an all-ages weekend in October.

3. Registration & Prices

How do I register?

Online registration will open soon! You may also register by mail (arriving soon), or by phone.

Is there a registration deadline?

Yes. The deadline for registering was May 25, 2018. Registrations received after May 25 will be assessed an additional $30 registration late fee.

Are drink tickets included in prices?

We have done away with drink tickets. Your price of admission for events serving food and beverages provides you with all you can eat and drink. Responsible consumption is encouraged.

I registered and paid online, but my name is not on the "Look Who’s Coming" list. Why is this?

Due to the volume of registrations, your registration may not have been processed yet. Allow 2-3 business days for your name to appear on the list. We work quickly to process all registrations as we recognize how exciting it is to see who from your class is attending.

4. Changes & Cancellations

Can I change my registration?

Yes! Call the Office of Alumni Engagement at 503-375-5304 and we will assist you.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

Cancellations will be accepted with full refunds minus a $15 non-refundable cancellation fee, until May 29. Due to the costs associated with catering and event planning, refunds will not be offered after May 29.

5. Lodging

Where should I stay?

On-Campus Lodging

With this fun and affordable option, alumni are welcome to stay in the residence halls or sorority houses during Alumni Reunion Weekend. Rooms will be available starting at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 7. Each room will be outfitted with single bed(s), sheets, pillow, blanket and towels. Please bring your own toiletries.

You may pick up your key only during the check-in hours listed below. Reservations and payment for rooms should be made as part of your registration process (online or via the enclosed form).

Space is limited, so act fast!
Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes and generations will be paired together, if possible.

If you plan to arrive after check-in hours or have ADA requests, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at 503-375-5304 or alumni@willamette.edu before May 31.

Off-Campus Lodging

We’ve reserved blocks of rooms in Salem at the Grand Hotel in downtown and at the Best Western Mill Creek Inn. Visit the accommodations page for details.

You may also wish to use Airbnb.comTripping.com to search for affordable rentals in Salem or check out other hotel options. Willamette has not vetted or endorsed these locations.

6. Transportation & Parking

How do I get to campus?

Directions to campus.

Information about the HUT Shuttle service between PDX and Salem.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the Sparks parking lot on the southeast side of campus, and in the Atkinson lot at the corner of Winter and Mill Street, just north of Bellevue.

Limited metered street parking is available on Winter and Mill Streets, and is enforced on weekdays.

Those with handicapped placards may park at the meters on State Street for free anytime.

Please do not park in spaces marked reserved or in fire lanes and loading areas.

What do I do if I have special mobility needs?

Golf cart shuttles will be available for transportation to and from the Sparks and Atkinson parking lots, as well as around campus during the weekend. Shuttles will be continuously circulating.

7. Weather & Comfort

What should I pack?

While June weather in the Willamette Valley is usually near perfect, we suggest you prepare for temperature swings and rain. Check the weather forecast.

How should I dress?

Events are casual, but many will choose to dress up for class reunion dinners. Northwest dress is the order of the weekend.
