Volunteer: WUAA Organizations

Alumni volunteers help to connect alumni across generations, build community and create opportunities to engage with each other wherever we may live.

WUAA Organizations Committee

Chaired by Sue (McAulay) Pyne '86, and co-chaired by Elliott Dale MBA'05, the Organizations Committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing and supporting areas of alumni affiliation including:

  • Chapters - officially chartered by the WUAA Board of Directors in regional areas with high concentrations of Willamette alumni
  • Clubs - areas outside of designated Chapters where there is grassroots interest in organizing alumni activity, Clubs may be founded
  • Groups - building community and activity around areas of affinity or interest... sky is the limit!

Get Involved!

The WUAA Organizations Committee and Alumni Relations staff provide support for volunteers who want to:

  1. Host an Event. The WUAA is always looking for opportunities to bring alumni together, so if you have an idea for an event, a venue in mind, or have any other way you can help, contact the alumni office who can connect you with volunteer leaders or help you to host your own get-together. It can be anything from a simple after-hours mixer, to a community service project, or having alumni visit your business, and much more!

  2. Join your Chapter Committee. With eight official WUAA Regional Chapters up and running, we are currently looking for volunteer leaders in some of the key locations mentioned above! Chapter leaders are responsible for planning events, spreading the word to local alumni and encouraging others to get involved.

Interested in a group not represented by one of our established chapters? You can start a WUAA Regional Club or Interest Group! The alumni office can assist your grassroots efforts to form a Club, or build an alumni Group around a particular common interest or affinity.
