Gordie James to Step Down as Head Men’s Basketball Coach

One could call Gordie James an Oregon coaching icon and no one would argue. At the helm of Willamette’s men’s team for 22 seasons, James has established a reputation – through national coaching success and his ever-popular camps for young athletes – as a defining figure at Willamette and here in the Valley.

At the end of this year, Gordie will be retiring.

Seventh Annual Social Powwow Returns this Month

Saturday, March 14 brings this year’s social Powwow, sponsored by the Native American Enlightenment Association (NAEA). This year’s festivities will include native arts and crafts, dancers and drumming, and a men’s grass dance contest. Grand Entry begins at 4 p.m. and the event is free and open to all.
