Willamette University, Students at the Mill Stream

August 2009

As we look ahead to a new academic year, there is some reassurance in the fact that Willamette continues to grow and progress. We're happy to report on the particularly robust incoming freshman class this year, featured here which brings to Willamette over 500 new students who will contribute to the campus community and help Willamette continue moving ahead.

If we're talking about expansion, it's also worth noting that this issue of WU News features something new. We know that experiences in athletics connect many Willamette alumni, and the news coming from the athletics department here at Willamette is often particularly exciting. Thanks in part to the great feedback we've received from our readers, we've created a recurring section in WU News focusing on athletics news. Check it out every month to keep track of what our scholar-athletes are up to.

We are also receiving registrations for Reunion Weekend 2009, on campus from Sept. 18-20. The Compass offers us a new way to register, and if you're interested in joining us for reunion this year, we encourage you to consider signing up online. Keep those registrations coming!

As always, Willamette's social network connections are active with the latest updates and feedback from our alumni. Check them out by visiting the online media homepage at the alumni relations website.
