Willamette Surpasses Peers on Oregon State Bar Exam Once Again
For the seventh consecutive year, the graduates of Willamette University College of Law have outperformed their peers on the Oregon State Bar examination. Eighty-eight percent of Willamette graduates who took the July 2009 exam for the first time passed. The graduates of all other law schools passed at a rate of 75.1 percent.

Willamette University College of Law is pleased to sponsor the 2009 Securities Regulation Conference in Portland on Nov. 6.
Current and former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission officials and top securities regulators for Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia will provide new insights and perspectives on recent developments in securities regulation. Leading securities attorneys from the Northwest and across the country and business law scholars from Willamette will round out the four discussion panels and closing Q&A.
College of Law Named a ‘Best Value Law School’ by The National Jurist
Willamette University College of Law recently was ranked among the top “Best Value Law Schools” by The National Jurist. The September 2009 issue of the magazine lists the top 65 law schools that give students the best bang for their buck — those that “carry a low price tag and are able to prepare their students incredibly well for today’s competitive job market.”
Listed at No. 58, Willamette’s law school ranked above the other three private law schools in the Northwest.
Law Alumnus Thomas Angelo Appointed to Federal Panel
In mid-September, the White House press office announced a number of key administration nominations and federal appointments by President Barack Obama. Among them was Thomas E. Angelo BA'68, JD'71, who was appointed to the Federal Service Impasses Panel of the Federal Labor Relations Authority.
