Willamette rowing ranks in top 10 in the country
The Willamette University women's varsity eight+ crew, which competed in the NCAA championships in 2009, is ranked ninth in the country in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division III Eights Coaches poll.
Additionally, the women's lightweight varsity eight+ ranks 16th with 29 points in the poll, just two points shy of being in the top 15 in the nation. All 15 schools ranked above the Bearcats are NCAA Division I institutions.
Willamette's next rowing competition is Saturday, April 10, at the Covered Bridge Regatta in Eugene, Ore. Learn more about Willamette rowing on the Athletics website.
Baseball looks ahead to reunion, alumni game in 2010
Willamette baseball will be hosting two events of particular interest to alumni.
The first is an alumni BBQ at Spec Keene Stadium following the home game against Whitworth on Sunday, April 25. Game time is 12 noon with the BBQ to start shortly after the completion of the game. Any questions and RSVPs should be directed to Coach Aaron Swick by Friday, April 16.
Additionally, the team is currently planning an alumni game for the fall. Ever wanted to get back on the field? This is the chance -- the date for the event is Sunday, Sept. 26. The game, arranged to coincide with Reunion Weekend 2010 activities, will start at 12 noon. More details to come from the baseball program through the summer.Visit Willamette baseball
