Willamette University, Students at the Mill Stream

May 2010

Graduation PicIt's graduation time in Salem -- crews are assembling the giant tent on the Quad as we compose this newsletter -- and seniors are making all the final preparations.

This means that it's also time for the Career Network's recent-graduate outreach program, in which career advisors and other volunteers will contact our 425-plus new undergraduate alumni. If you've considered joining the career advisor program, now is the perfect time! To learn more, check out the Career Network FAQs.

Also, in the last issue of The Scene, we put out an invitation to write us with recollections from your time at the university -- your Willamette stories. We're still accepting submissions (and we've received a whole lot of feedback so far), so if you're interested in sharing, let us know. Please limit stories to 500 words. Email them to scene@willamette.edu or send mail to the Office of Alumni Relations, 900 State St., Salem, OR, 97301.

We know that the following -- more somber -- note will be important to many alumni. Arthur Payton, much-loved professor emeritus in chemistry, passed away in April. A memorial is in the works for the fall at Reunion Weekend 2010. More details to come.

We'll be back with more news next month, though we will have a summer break for July. In the meantime, ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
