Willamette presents annual Christmas in Hudson Hall
The annual Christmas in Hudson event features carols and seasonal readings.
The Willamette music department will present its annual Christmas in Hudson Hall concerts on Thursday, Dec. 9, and Friday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Hudson Hall within Rogers Music Center. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for both performances.
This special event in the ornately decorated Hudson Hall is a non-commercial presentation of the historical roots of the Christmas season. The performance has its Willamette roots in the Lessons and Carols service originally created in Oxford, England.
Willamette gives it a special flavor by having rhetoric Professor Jeanne Clark construct a series of seasonal readings to thread together the carols sung by the audience and the special feature selections performed by Male Ensemble Willamette, Voce Femminile and the Chamber Choir.
Various student instrumentalists accompany the choirs to round out the performance.
Tickets cost $8 (festival seating) for all ages and can be purchased Monday through Friday at the Music Department office in the Rogers Music Center, or you can charge by phone at 503-370-6255.
Tickets will also be available for purchase before the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the music office. Will-call ticket pickup will also begin at 6:30 p.m.
