Graduate School of Education News
The Graduate School of Education recently received a Hewlett Grant in support of a new program for special needs education and curricula. The program, called "A Special Arts and Literacy Summer: Pilot Program to Provide Education for Area Special Needs Students and GSE Special Education Candidates," was spearheaded by Robin Fromherz, Neil Liss and Rita Moore of the GSE.
The Hewlett grant program is administered through Willamette's President's Office and is used to fund activities related to faculty and curriculum development or improvement. Awards range from $1,000 - $40,000 depending on project. In 2011, preference was given to proposals that fostered or created opportunities for student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship, or otherwise expanded high-impact pedagogy at Willamette.
