Willamette MBA students competing in million-dollar Global Case Challenge

The Hult Global Case Challenge (GCC) has selected a team of MBA students from Willamette to participate in the regional round of its third annual competition.

The Willamette University team, composed of Bradford McKeown (Marshfield, Oregon), Casey Morgan (Carson City, Nevada), Christal Lee (Temple City, California), Joe Garrison (Grand Rapids, MI) and Katie Skaar (St. Paul, MN), will travel to San Francisco in late February. The team is assigned to the “energy track” and will be working on business solutions for the not-for-profit organization SolarAid.  One team from each track (a total of 3) will be selected from the regional round in San Francisco to compete in New York with schools around the world at the Hult GCC finals in April.

The Hult GCC is the world’s largest and most internationally acclaimed case competition featuring thousands of students competing from over 100 countries. An award of $1 million in seed capital is made available annually to provide funding to pilot the very best ideas presented by student teams. Hult GCC’s mission is to develop innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing social challenges and encourage breakthrough ideas from college and university students around the world.

Willamette MBA ranked highest in Oregon on “Poets and Quants”

In its second annual ranking of MBA programs, Poets & Quants, an online community for business school prospective students, listed the Willamette MBA as the highest ranked program in Oregon.  Willamette was also included on the website’s first ranking in 2010.

The Poets & Quants list is a “composite” score, taking into consideration all of the other national rankings and the influence these rankings have on the image and reputation of the schools listed. The Willamette MBA made high marks this past year as the only school in Oregon recognized on Forbes magazine’s list of “best business schools” and a top 25 school on the Aspen Institute’s Beyond Grey Pinstripes list.
