Keith Achepohl: If It Please You Lord focuses on a body of mixed media works on paper that were inspired by Achepohl's collection of ex-votos. Ex-votos often take the form of a flat embossed metal sheet that represents either a plea for help to a saint or divinity, or one’s gratitude for an answered prayer. Achepohl's collection amassed over a fifty-year period while working and traveling in Italy, Greece, Egypt, and the United States. His mixed media works were begun while he was an Artist-in-Residence at The International School for Graphic Art (Scuola Internazionale di Grafica) in Venice, Italy in 2010.

The book features over 40 color illustrations of Keith's work and selections from his ex-voto collection. It includes a scholarly essay by Professor Kate Wagle, a metalsmith and Associate Dean of the College of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon in Portland. In her essay, Wagle discusses Achepohl's mixed media works on paper within the context of the ex-voto tradition, a tradition that dates back hundreds if not thousands of years.
