2009 Information

Each session is two weeks, Monday-Friday.
Each lesson is 30 minutes in length.
Payment required upon registration.
Class Descriptions
Beginner 1: An introductory class for novices. Skills taught include back and front floating, breath holding, exhaling in water, front and back sculling, kicking and water respect.
Beginner 2: Skills taught include kicking on back and front, rhythmic breathing, full arm movements for freestyle and backstroke (for 10-15 yards); May include breaststroke kick, elementary backstroke, survival floating and preliminary diving skills.
Advanced Beginner: Continue stroke technique for freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, teach proper movements for breaststroke, diving skills.
Intermediate: Continue stroke technique for freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, teaching diving skills, sidestroke, basic water safety.
Pre-Competitive: Teach competitive techniques for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, using various drills and equipment. Teach appropriate turns and starts. This is a good precursor to joining a competitive swimming team.
