Nelson Larson is in his fourth year as the head coach of men's soccer at Willamette University. He is in his sixth year on the WU coaching staff, after serving as assistant men's soccer coach during his first two seasons at WU.

Larson is also the Director of Youth Programs at Portland City United Soccer Club, where he is a staff coach. Larson is entering his fourth year as a staff coach for the Oregon Olympic Development Program. He has earned the USSF National "B" License and the NSCAA National License.

As a player, Larson was a three-time All-Conference defender while at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb. He competed for the Broncos in the NAIA and graduated in 2000 with a degree in Marketing. At the end of his collegiate career, he played in England for Harlow Hill FC and Newtown Villa FC.

Later, he served as a graduate assistant coach with the Hasting's women's team. He also worked as an assistant coach for Lewis & Clark College in 2003, before joining the Bearcat coaching staff in 2004. Larson was named head coach in May 2005. He expects his team to play hard and to challenge for possession at both ends of the field. The team has gradually increased its technical skill and speed, as Larson has worked to build the Bearcats into a contender in the NWC.

Travis PeaseTravis Pease

Assistant Coach

Travis Pease is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Bearcats. Pease provides Willamette with nine years of coaching experience at high schools and clubs in Portland. He graduated from Pacific University after earning All-Northwest Conference honors in soccer. He played for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Regional Team in 1991 and 1992. Later, he competed for West Villa FC, which won the 1994 Oregon State Championship.

At Willamette, he actively assists with gameday and practice duties, as the Bearcats prepare for games against NWC and non-conference opponents. Pease also is a staff coach for the Portland City United Soccer Club.

Anthony TrejoAnthony Trejo

Assistant Coach

Anthony Trejo is in his first year as the goalkeeper coach for the Willamette Bearcats. Trejo has previous coaching experience, having served as assistant boys’ soccer coach and the goalkeeper coach at Sutter Union High School (Calif.), assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Cascade College, and as an assistant coach and the reserve head coach for the Cascade Surge.

He played soccer for two years each at Yuba Community College and Cascade College. He had a 0.87 goals against average at Yuba. Trejo earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in Business Administration from Devry University in July of 2009.
