Mark Conliffe

Faculty Associate Dean for Curriculum

Mark Conliffe became faculty associate dean for curriculum in the College of Liberal Arts in August 2015. He came to Willamette in 2000, and in 2014 he was appointed professor of Russian. Among his administrative responsibilities in those years, he chaired the Department of German and Russian and the Program in International Studies. In 2012 he received two awards: the Jerry E. Hudson Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Mortar Board Honor Society Professor of the Year Award.

Conliffe’s responsibilities in the Dean’s office include researching, implementing, and achieving curricular goals that improve student learning; providing strategic leadership on curricular initiatives in departments and in general education; supporting and coordinating course, program, and departmental assessment; and gaining and administering resources focused on student learning and the curriculum.
