Willamette is the only university in the U.S. to be listed among the best liberal arts colleges and the nation’s top schools of management and business. Undergraduate students now have the opportunity to pursue any major they choose in the arts and sciences and add a minor in business, government and not-for-profit management.
Through this program, students will discover the foundations of management regardless of the educational and career path they choose, in a format that complements Willamette’s outstanding undergraduate experience.
The business minor comprises five courses, introducing students to the fundamentals of management and managerial disciplines — leadership, accounting, organizations, finance, and marketing and strategy. Coupled with a College of Liberal Arts major, the business minor will give students powerful skills that employers from all industries value.
Students who complete the minor will have access to specialized career services, offered by a dedicated staff member through Atkinson’s Career Management. Atkinson’s Career Management team has seen phenomenal success in student internship and job placement year after year: 100% of MBA students landed a summer internship, and 84% of graduates (U.S. citizens) received a job offer within 3 months of graduation.
For students that know they want to pursue a career in management, Willamette also offers a unique program experience. For over four decades, students have jump started their graduate program experiences through our Bachelor of Arts and MBA dual degree. After pursuing any undergraduate program, students begin their MBA at our top ranked Atkinson graduate School of Management during their senior year, completing both degrees in one year less than pursuing them separately. Plus, there’s the opportunity for dual admission to the CLA and the MBA programs when students complete their undergraduate application for admission.
