Andrew Kronser began studying saxophone in 1986. He received a Bachelor of Science in Music (1998) from Western Oregon University, where he studied saxophone and woodwinds with Dr. Tom Bergeron. He continued his education with a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance and Jazz Studies (2001) from the University of North Texas, where he studied saxophone with Dr. Eric Nestler and James Riggs. Following graduation, Kronser worked as a saxophone instructor in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area and was a Saxophone Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas where he completed course work towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Saxophone Performance and Music Theory.
Upon returning to Salem, Oregon, Kronser taught saxophone for four years at Oregon State University. He also maintains a private studio of saxophone students and works as an ESL teacher in the Central School District. Additionally, he helped to form the Willamette Valley Saxophone Quartet based in Salem, Oregon. The group plays a variety of jazz and classical music throughout Western Oregon and hosts the annual Saxophone Day on the Willamette University campus each January.
