Christine Welch

Christine Welch is currently in her fifth year on faculty at Willamette University where she conducts Voce Femminile and teaches studio voice. She previously served for eight years as Director of Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Salem. Her church ensembles as well as three Willamette choirs including Voce Femminile were featured in a nationally televised Christmas Eve special, Receive the Gift, which aired on CBS in December of 2003 and again on the Hallmark channel in 2004.

Ms. Welch holds vocal performance degrees from Indiana University and the University of Idaho with minors in conducting and composition, and is active as a soprano soloist and composer. She has appeared with Basically Bach of Chicago as well as numerous regional orchestras and choruses, including the Willamette Falls Orchestra, the Willamette Master Chorus, the Salem Chamber Orchestra, and the Washington-Idaho Symphony. This January she will return to Carnegie Hall to perform the St. Matthew Passion as a paid chorister under the baton of Helmut Rilling. Her choral compositions are distributed by Hal Leonard.
