Ivan Welty

Professor of Philosophy, Department Chair

Ivan's recent work includes one paper on the epistemic authority that speakers are supposed to have concerning their own mental states and another on Wittgenstein's analysis of color in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. With luck he'll soon start writing a sequel to his 2017 paper on Augustine's conception of free will, and he hopes eventually to complete an illustrated guide to Wittgenstein's Tractatus. As always, Ivan will test his ideas in the classroom, where students quickly separate wheat from chaff.
