When SSRD was created by the late CLA Dean Larry Cress, he had more than one goal in mind. The main goal, of course, was to provide an avenue for WU students to share their exemplary work with their peers, educators, friends, and family. Another goal of Dean Cress's was to have the papers and projects presented on this special day included in a digital archive of student work completed at WU. It was decided that Hatfield Library would collect copies of these papers and projects and make them a part of the Willamette Collection located in the Mark O. Hatfield Library Archives.
The Willamette Collection consists of materials that reflect the culture and highlights of Willamette University history. Materials from SSRD presentations are included in this unique collection. They are cataloged, digitized, and made available via the Internet. It provides access to current students and researchers to these materials, and are included in the Hatfield Library Archives.
The presenter's permission is required. Papers or projects will not be included in the collection if a permission form is not signed. The SSRD application form asks presenters for permission to add a copy of their paper or project to the Willamette Collection. This allows the Hatfield Library to reformat, scan, reproduce, catalog and/or electronically display your paper or project.
