E.B. BROOKS (Costume Designer) E.B. Brooks is a Costume Designer, Art Director, Production Designer, Photographer, and Performer, based in Los Angeles. E.B. Brooks has been designing costumes professionally for ten years. She got an early start in Chevy Chase, MD by turning her siblings and friends into paper dolls. She would lay them down on the floor, trace them, cut the clothes out, color the outfits, and then tape them on their bodies. She then moved to Los Angeles to work on her master’s degree.
Recent productions include: Blithe Spirit at A Noise Within, for which she received the 2010 Ticketholder Award; Take Me Out at Celebration Theatre, Brewsie & Willie and What To Wear at CNP; Hamlet at Theatre 150; Courting Vampires and 1001 at Boston Court Theatre; Forgiveness and Secrets of the Trade. She received my MFA from California Institute of the Arts in May 2007, and designs for California Institute of Technology. She works in a large range of styles and mediums and considers her interests and taste diverse. Her theatrical background branched into film, television, opera, dance, music video, puppetry, and performance art. To this day, she still makes her clothes and costumes exactly the same way she did as a kid.
