Biography

Guest performer, Public Enemy • Fall 2019
Guest performer, An Inspector Calls • Fall 2017

Craig Pesti-Strobel graduated from Willamette University in 1980 with two degrees: Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a Bachelor of Theatre. He went on to get a Master of Arts in Religion and the Arts, and an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Performance Studies and Religious Studies. Having started acting in high school, he has appeared in such plays as The Odd Couple (Felix), The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Speed), The Importance of Being Earnest (Algernon), Marat/Sade (Monsieur Duperret), Seven Keys to Baldpate (William Magee), Brighton Beach Memoirs (Jack), The Diary of Anne Frank (Otto Frank), Our Town (Stage Manager, the role), and Chapter Two (George).

Craig was the Guest Artist for Willamette’s 2017 production of An Inspector Calls, appearing as Arthur Birling. In 2019, he will make a guest appearance in Public Enemy as Kiil. He also holds the dubious distinction of having acted in every iteration of the Theatre at Willamette since the old gymnasium was converted into the Playhouse in 1974. Yes, that makes him old. But it also makes him happy.
