Biography

Tim Wratten loves to play with light. Having worked in British rep theatres (Bristol Old Vic, Manchester Library, Coventry Belgrade) for many years, in 1996, Tim and family decided to come and play in Seattle (the weather is the same). Since then he has completed over 40 shows, including designs for Seattle Shakespeare Company, Empty Space Theatre, New City Theatre, Seattle University, and the Alliance Theatre Atlanta.

Seattle Shakespeare Company he has designed lights for: Wittenberg, Henry IV, Part I, Henry IV, Part II, All’s Well That Ends Well, Swansong, Chamber Julius Caesar, Pericles, School for Scandal, Chamber Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors, The Winter’s Tale, Cyrano de Bergerac, Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, Othello, Love’s Labour’s Lost, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Lear, Measure for Measure, Twelfth Night, The Tempest, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet.

For the Seattle Children’s Theatre: Peter Pan, According to Coyote; Seattle Public Theatre – The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow; He has also designed lights for The Empress of Eden for the Empty Space Theatre.

Tim Wratten is a freelance lighting and production consultant and is Chair of the Apprentice Board of IATSE Local 15.
