The University Council (UC) is an advisory body composed of administrators and student and faculty representatives from all schools. The UC helps ensure that voices of Willamette’s faculty, students and staff play a meaningful role in guiding the strategic direction of the university.
The UC provides informed and representative advice and input to the president and senior administration regarding programs, policies and initiatives that impact the common interests of faculty, staff and students. It also provides a forum for faculty and student leaders to introduce and discuss academic or student life initiatives that may have broader impact on the university community. It is the central coordinating body for the various groups charged with shared governance of Willamette. As such, members serve as formal representatives of their constituent groups, and are expected to consult with and communicate back to those groups about matters considered by UC.
The University Council meets on second Friday of the month during the academic year, from 2 to 4 p.m., starting in September.
