COMMUNITY SERVICE

The 230+ Classified Staff of Willamette University raise money throughout the year and donate to national, state, county, city, and Willamette University causes including: The American Red Cross, Marion/Polk Food Share, and the WU Take a Break program.

The December Luncheon is our biggest fundraising activity each year. In 2006 $900 was raised and distributed anonymously to three Willamette-related families in need. Also, in 2007 $843 was raised and distributed anonymously to three Willamette-related families in need. In 2008 $469 was raised and distributed anonymously to Willamette-related families in need.

At each of the seven regular Classified Luncheons, there is a 50/50 drawing, where the winner keeps half of the money raised, and chooses where to donate the other half. These donations can be made to any external charity or internal Willamette program.
