The Community Action and Awareness Team (CAAT) is a group of student leaders who work to raise awareness about social and environmental justice issues and to provide direct service opportunities both on and off campus. We typically hire our leadership staff in the fall. We can always put volunteers to work. If you are interested in developing your leadership skills through service then please let us know. We would love to work with you! Our group strives to collaborate with the Willamette University community. Let us know if you have an idea or event we can help with.

Volunteer to help create the Tunnel of Oppression. This is an
impactful art installation done by students for the benefit of not only
their peers, but of the larger community as a whole. Displayed in four
rooms are topics of oppression represented in multi-media. Topics are
completely student chosen and driven, letting individual voices come
across in a broad medium to speak out. It's is hoped that visitors will
come away not only more aware of the world that we live in, but
inspired to take action towards a better tomorrow. Contributing to the
Tunnel by either leading a room, or just helping at the door, can not
only broaden your personal understanding of the issues featured, but
help you bring the message on a individual level back to your peers.

Multiple leadership opportunities exist across campus. The leadership
website assist you in determining application deadlines, accessing the
letter of recommendation form, and determining if you can hold multiple
positions at once.
