to junior and senior Pell Grant recipients, who are majoring in designated
fields including math, the sciences, and specific foreign languages.
Recipients must be US citizens. |

| Academic Competitiveness
Grant |
Eligibility is restricted
to Pell Grant recipients, who have completed a specific "rigorous"
course of study in high school, and who are US citizens. |
Freshman can receive up
to $750. A sophomore may receive up to $1,300, provided that their
cumulative GPA, at the start of the year, is a 3.0. |

Educational Opportunity Grant |
Awarded to students
with exceptional financial need – that is, those with the lowest

Awarded to residents of
Oregon based strictly on family size, income, and the number of family

donors are administered by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission
and awarded to Oregon residents who meet specific eligibility requirements. |

Any student who intends to participate in a performing ensemble at Willamette,
regardless of intended major, may audition for a music award. These scholarships
are renewable, based on continued ensemble participation. Application
procedure: Students must audition. Although a personal audition is recommended,
quality musical tapes may be submitted. The audition should consist of
two or three pieces selected from different musical periods. Contact Susie

Students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in debate and forensics
activities in high school are eligible for consideration. Students must
plan to continue their participated in Willamettes forensics program.
These awards are renewable. Application procedure: Submit a letter of
application listing all forensics experiences, years of participation,
and all awards, prizes and recognitions achieved. In addition, have your
forensics coach submit a written recommendation. Contact Dr.
Robert Trapp for additional information.

Recommended application deadline: February 1

Eligible students must have a serious commitment to theatre, demonstrate
outstanding achievement, and plan to devote major attention to the theatre
program at Willamette. These scholarships are renewable based on yearly
evaluations. Application Procedure: Submit scholarship application form
and two reference forms, audition or present a design/technical portfolio,
and interview. All application materials must be received two weeks before
