Willamette celebrates and recognizes outstanding talent in music, forensics and theatre. Consideration for a talent scholarship requires separate application or audition in addition to the materials submitted with your application for admission. Students should apply for talent scholarships in conjunction with either the Early Action or Regular Decision application timeline.
Willamette's music ensembles and programs are outstanding and we seek talented students to participate at all levels. Music majors and non-majors are equally eligible to receive music scholarships if they agree to participate in the appropriate ensemble(s). To be considered, students must audition.
Willamette sponsors an active and extremely successful program for students interested in intercollegiate debate and speaking competition. Opportunities are available in parliamentary, international, and public debate.
To be considered for a forensics scholarship, students must submit a letter of application to the head of the forensics program listing all forensics experience and years of participation, as well as awards, prizes and recognition achieved. In addition, a forensics coach should submit a written recommendation.
Willamette's newly renovated theatre affords many opportunities for student involvement. Interested students must submit a letter of application to the Theatre Department describing their interest in Willamette's theatre program and indicating which specialty (acting, directing, or design/technical) is their primary interest. Recommendations are also required.
