H1N1 Influenza

Bishop Wellness Center is carefully monitoring the H1N1 flu situation.  For the lastest information on what Willamette is doing to prepare for possible cases on campus please visit our FLU Preparedness website.

Steps you can take:

  • Wash hands frequently, especially after you cough or sneeze. (use waterless hand sanitizer when soap and warm water are unavailable)
  • Cover your cough (cough or sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve, not into your hands)
  • Stay home when you are ill (Protect others and accelerate your recovery)
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth

This disease is presenting similar symptoms as seasonal flu. If you have a fever higher than 100 degrees F (37.7 degrees C) with a runny nose, nasal congestion, cough or sore throat please call Bishop Wellness Center at 503-370-6062. If you need to come to Bishop Health Services with the above symptoms, you will be asked to wear a mask as a precautionary measure.
