Willamette University knows that faculty and staff encounter challenges in both their professional and personal realms. We also realize that a challenge in either area is very likely to affect the other. The health and well-being of our faculty and staff are important and our Wellness Program seeks to provide an environment which honors the whole person and encourages all employees to explore ways in which to improve their social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
One component of our Wellness Program is the employee assistance program (EAP). This is a free and confidential service provided by the University for our faculty, staff and their families who may encounter professional and/or personal challenges. No one is immune from problems, and usually they can be overcome. Sometimes though, the issue will persist and become serious enough to affect your life, personally and professionally. In these situations, speaking to an educated and professionally-trained counselor may be able to help. This benefit however, is not just for crises and challenges. Cascade Centers is a great resource for counseling, work/family life, legal/financial resources, personal wellness coaching, concierge services, a home ownership program, identity theft and tools for managers/supervisors.
All services provided by Cascade Centers, Inc. and their Self-Help website or Listening Library, are strictly confidential. Use is neither tracked electronically nor reported to Willamette University, except in the aggregate. A vital part of the program's success and is its confidentiality, and participation will be treated in accordance with all state and federal laws. Faculty, staff, and their families may receive five (5) free counseling sessions per year, per incident (e.g. work issues/conflicts, depression, stress management).
