Overview

Keele is located halfway between Birmingham and Manchester providing easy access to rail stations and airports. Keele University is a unique European university in that most of the students live on campus. There are over forty student clubs and international students are encouraged to join. Academics

WU students take regular Keele University courses. This program is recommended for all majors. Please note that some classes may not be available to international students. More course information. Courses marked + are available to qualified Exchange and Study Abroad students but there may be a restriction on the number of places available. For courses marked ~ specific pre-requisite(s) needed by Exchange and Study Abroad students wishing to take these modules. Courses marked # are not normally available to Exchange and Study Abroad students (except by prior negotiation with Departmental Tutor.)
Note: Modules not marked with a # are available to suitably qualified Exchange and Study Abroad students.

Housing

Students live in university housing, usually single rooms with shared bathrooms, living spaces, and kitchens.

Dates

The Keele program is available in either the fall or spring semester. Fall semester starts late September and ends late January; spring semester starts late January and ends early June. Finals for the fall semester are in the third week of January - students must make arrangements with their professors when they arrive at Keele to take the finals early or when they are back in the U.S. Students must return to the U.S. for the beginning of the spring semester at Willamette. Professors are not obligated to allow changes to the finals schedule or location. There is a charge of around 20 for each exam taken away from campus, Willamette will reimburse each student for this expense, contact an OIE Advisor with questions.

Cost

Willamette tuition only. Room and board are not included in the cost paid to Willamette University. Students will pay Keele University directly for their room and board upon arrival in Keele, find estimated costs on Keele's website. During the Spring semester all Keele students, including international students, must vacate their dorm rooms during the 3-4 week Easter Break. Most students travel during this time but some on-campus housing is available.
