This program is located at John Cabot University. John Cabot is an American liberal arts university situated in the heart of Rome. The mission of the University is to provide an educational experience firmly rooted in the American tradition of the liberal arts and solidly international in orientation. John Cabot is characterized by international faculty and staff and a diverse student population.
A broad range of liberal arts courses are offered including Italian courses from beginning to advanced. All courses (other than language learning courses) are conducted in English.
Students are housed in apartment style arrangements usually sharing a room with a common living area, kitchen, and bathroom. Descriptions can be found on the JCU Housing Options site. JCU offers one optional meal plan that consists of breakfast and lunch only. The meal plan offers meals at local cafés and eateries through a voucher system. The meals are described "As the Romans Do". There is very little choice but offers a typical Roman meal. Read the meal plan description on the JCU site before purchasing the meal plan as the vouchers are non-refundable. Students purchase food and prepare their own evening meals.
The JCU Rome program is available during both the fall and spring semesters. Fall semester starts early September and ends mid December; spring semester starts late January and concludes at the end of May.
Willamette tuition only. Room and board are not included in the cost paid to Willamette University. Students will pay a Housing deposit prior to arrival and pay JCU directly for their room and board. Check the JCU Housing site for projected costs for housing. Projected meal plan cost is found here.
