Permit Attachment Instructions

Attach

Caution: Do not push permit closed until you have positioned it properly. Once the seal is closed, it will not re-open.

The steps and diagrams below detail proper attachment. Parking permits must be attached in the manner specified to be valid. Improperly attached permits are invalid and will result in citations.

To attach the permit:

  • Face the numbered side to the front of the vehicle, to be visible through the windshield.
  • Hang metal wire over rearview mirror on the front windshield.
  • Push the metal wire completely into the plastic body. The wires will go in easily if both wires are pressed simultaneously with the tips of both plastic tabs.

If you have difficulty attaching your permit properly, call Campus Safety for assistance.

If you have difficulty removing your old permit, call Campus Safety for assistance.

Important Note: Parking permits are assigned to a specific vehicle and are NOT TRANSFERABLE to a different vehicle. If you change vehicles, you must exchange this permit for a new one.

Selected Parking Regulations

  • Valid Willamette University parking permits are required on all motor vehicles (except motorcycles) Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (Section B.)
  • A permit must be correctly displayed and attached to the vehicle to be valid. (Section B.8.)
  • Permit Transferability:
    • To transfer a permit to a different vehicle, return the old permit for a free replacement. Without the old permit, a replacement is $15.
    • If you purchase a vehicle from a student or employee, the previous owner's permit becomes invalid on the date of sale. You must purchase a new parking permit and submit a copy of the new vehicle registration. (Section B.9.)
