Willamette Emergency Medical Services

Willamette EMS is a licensed EMS agency in the State of Oregon, providing Basic-Life Support to the community. WEMS members provide quick response emergency medical care to the Willamette University students and guests with one EMT-Basic and one First Responder 24 hours a day while school is in session. As a student group at Willamette University, WEMS promotes education and training in prehospital emergency care.

WEMS was founded in 1997 by students concerned with the safety and well being of those on campus.

In the summer of 2003, WEMS expanded its borders with a pilot program in the State Parks. WEMS EMT-B's volunteered their time to monitor the well-being and safety of those in Silver Falls State Park which has averaged 900,000 visitors each year.

Currently WEMS is currently in its ninth year of growth with a very large First Responder class which has recently graduated and joined the ranks. We hope to continue this growth with more EMT's over the coming months!
